Peter Geach

Peter was born and bred in Johannesburg and has been sharing his love and knowledge of the area with guests since 2017.  As a keen art enthusiast and a natural adventurer, he has sought out hidden gems within Johannesburg’s urban landscape and believes that the gritty exterior conceals a deep pride the people have for regeneration.

Educated in the Natal midlands, Peter matriculated from Michaelhouse in 1982.  He then completed his two years of National Service in the sand dunes of South-West Africa (now Namibia) reading enemy morse code.  After National Service, he got his diploma in Architectural Design and spent the next two decades working in the creative arts & design sector.  In 2017, with an urge to escape corporate life, Pete got his tour guiding badge and began work as a freelance guide for Aah-Afrika.

Pete’s easy-going nature and natural charm make him popular with guests, and his genuine interest in the  people and history of South Africa shines through.  Peter guides cultural and art tours in and around Johannesburg, Soweto and Pretoria, as well as wildlife tours to Pilanesberg and the Cradle of Humankind.

If you’re keen for adventure and not afraid of straying off the beaten track, then Pete is the guide for you.
