CHRIS gREEN
Chris Green is a qualified guide in Gauteng, North-West Province, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Mpumalanga and the Western Province. He began as a Safari guide in 1993 and has specialist knowledge and experience of the Southern African wilderness. In 2009, Chris qualified as a Cultural guide and began his own tourism company, Cashan Africa. Cashan regularly receives great reviews on TripAdvisor for their intelligent, insightful and entertaining tours. Chris has a love of history and art and is passionate about geology and paleontology. He is one of a very a few specialist guides qualified to take the Human Origins tours which explore the exciting homonim fossil finds in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage site. Chris received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wits University in 1975, majoring in English and Art History. He then studied ceramics and worked as studio potter in Lesotho, Botswana and South Africa, producing commissioned works for private homes and game lodges. Chris is sensitive to his guests’ interests and with his wealth of knowledge, he is able to expertly curate his tours to address these interests and offer a uniquely tailor-made experience. “My tours are not structured around a tight ‘route’ or ‘agenda’ but seek to find a balance between guests’ requests and giving a true reflection of the place. The incredibly short, violent, diverse and complex history of South Africa demands sufficient details for explanation but enough flexibility to ensure a balanced and fair representation”.
