ADAM MOKOKE

Adam has been working as a tour guide for 25 years. He is a specialist Soweto guide, but is also certified to guide in the provinces of Gauteng, Mpumalanga and The North West. He started working as a tour guide in 1998 for El-Phoenix Tours and Travel and was then recruited by Africa Sepungu Tours. In 2000 he became a freelance guide working mainly for Springbok Atlas and Ilios Travel, two of the top tourism companies in the country. In 2015 he bought a Mini van and started working as an independent service provider. Adam was born and raised in Soweto and knows the neighborhood intimately. His tours are delightfully peppered with anecdotes from his youth, and as he expertly guides you through the streets, he is often hailed by friends & family. After he matriculated in 1983, Adam studied Industrial Relations at Damelin College receiving a diploma certificate. From 1992 to 1995 he worked as an Industrial Relations Officer at Summit Industrial in Rosslyn, Pretoria, where he expertly mediated disputes between workers, unions and management. Adam’s wide and varied career has given him a unique insight into the culture, struggles and resourcefulness of the South African people.
